Monday, October 19th, 2009Postcards
Sunday, September 6th, 2009I like mail. I like drawing. But I’m in a bit of a drawing rut so I came up with this project.
So send me an message on any site you know me on or email with your address and I’ll send you a wee bit of mail.
(I promise not to store your address or use it for any other purposes than sending you a postcard. I’ll send worldwide, it’ll just take longer to get to you.)
Final Show
Thursday, June 11th, 2009The end of year shows at college opened last Friday and I have a project exhibited as part of my foundation year. And this is how I have my work presented! It’s at South Nottingham College (Charnwood centre, Clifton) and runs till the 18th, open weekdays 10-4.
Along with the framed images I made, there’s the zines I produced in the suitcase, and people are encouraged to touch and play with the objects placed around (there’s records, various cameras, old on-topic magazines, a slider viewer + slides, a camera obscura, photo album containing my Polaroid month, a box of old photos and a typewriter).
There’s paper for people to write notes on, and moo cards with images of the project’s work to take in the little open draw.
Detail of some of my work. They’re all images based on typewriters, film cameras and record players, produced in screenprinting, photography, collage, embroidery and papercuts.
View from the right. On the 3rd board I’ve done some large scale drawings taken from the zine. The roll of film wraps round to the front board..
..and the camera comes down onto the floor (done with blackened string).
Forever Analog
Monday, June 1st, 2009The zine I’ve been making for my final project is finished and all 50 copies have been put together. Papercutting and hand drawn illustrations/text photocopied onto thick cream paper, card covers in various colours and all hand bound (with a bit of help from the boy) with matching embroidery thread. These will be sold at the show and hopefuly online once that’s finished in a few weeks! More images here.
