Brighton at Night

Last week I took a short walk along the seafront and down the pier, before returning home. The pier at night is like something out of Scooby-Doo when it’s off season. Most things are closed and there’s not many people about, half the rides have had their insides taken away or are in pieces. The cheesy 70’s music can still be heard all the way down.

Alternative Press Fair

On Saturday the 13th I’ll be escaping from the seaside to do the Alternative Press Fair in London. Again I’ll be tabling with Emma, bringing along our zines and most probably cake too. (facebook event page)

Afterwards we’ll also be attending Girl Germs at Camden Head, a ” grrrl-tastic night of music, zines, cakes and dancing” with zines from Vampire Sushi distro. (facebook event page)

It’s basically a lovely big collection of previous posted drawings – but everything is much nicer to look at in print.

I hope everyone’s enjoying the new year so far. Here’s a few things I made for christmas. I know posting this is a little late, but I’ve only recently been able to swap gifts with people.

Embroidering cards was really fun. I’m really pleased with how the tree one came out (I just wish I got a better photo before I sent it off).

My New Toy

Last week a new (and expensive!) toy arrived through the post. I’ve wanted a badge maker for years, so I’m very pleased that I finally shelled out for one. Here’s some of the badges I made for last weekend’s zine + craft fair.

Real dried flowers. Turns out that I can use anything as long as it’s flat.

Found/vintage images and recycled paper.

I’ve made a lot more, including ones made out of fabric and my own drawings. I’ll try and post about those soon.
