Art Book: December

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

Here’s the art book I bought way back in December.

The Ballad of Sexual Dependency by Nan Goldin. This has been on my wishlist since I saw her slideshow, Heartbeat, at the Barbican 2 years ago.

Art Book: November

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

As an attempt to make the wishlist of books I have seem more doable, I’m letting myself buy an art book every month. Here’s what I bought in November:

Serious Drawings by Marc Johns

It’s basically a lovely big collection of previous posted drawings – but everything is much nicer to look at in print.

I love old books!

Yesterday was spent looking round charity and vintage shops in Seaford (a town just down the coast which seemed to be populated by only grumpy OAPs). Among the things I bought were these two books that have some great illustrations.  Click on these to see them bigger because you can’t just can’t see the details at a mere 500px wide.

British Birds - cover by you.

I seem to have a growing collection of natural history reference books. £1.

British Birds - inside by you.

Rosemary - front by you.

Picked this up for £2 just because I liked the cover. All I can tell about it without reading it is it’s young fiction. I couldn’t find out anything about the author online.

Rosemary - inside by you.

Reads: Florence Emma Jones. From her Father, 21st March 1906.

One of the illustrations, there’s more in the flickr set.
