Brighton at Night

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Last week I took a short walk along the seafront and down the pier, before returning home. The pier at night is like something out of Scooby-Doo when it’s off season. Most things are closed and there’s not many people about, half the rides have had their insides taken away or are in pieces. The cheesy 70′s music can still be heard all the way down.

Staithes and Cowbar

cowbar by you.

Cowbar is a tiny tiny coastal village next to Staithes, in North Yorkshire. My Grandma grew up there, and when I was small my whole family used to rent a house for holidays too. So it’s a very childhood-nostalgic place for me. Staithes is supposed to be a tourist destination, we went into a cafe just before 4pm to be told that they were closing, and the visitors centre had closed at 3. Pretty, though.
